CONFESSION OF GUMI - A FAMOUS WAHHABI CLERIC IN NIGERIA
Late Mahmud Gumi introduced Wahhabism into Nigeria in the 1970s and formed a staunch Wahhabis organisation known as Izalatul Bida wa iqamatis sunnah this organisation carried out wide area of activities with funding coming from Saudi Monarchy. Many other Wahhabis organisation and Wahhabis belief were nurtured in Nigeri through this umbrella. However, Gumi himself later in the movement realised the danger of Wahhabism and the course he was propagating and he made the confession you are about to hear in an audio which was recorded.
The Wahhabis particularly members of the Ixala sect tried to destroy all copies of this confession, glory be to God that this audio is now to be shared with everyone on this site.
In his confession which is in Hausa language, Gumi said:
- Sufis and members of Sufi orders are indeed Muslims contrary to his early utterances
- Gathering crowd for naming ceremony of a child is lawful
- Kneeling down to greet ones parent is acceptable in Islam
- Most people called Polytheist by Wahhabis are not polytheists
- Most if not all what Izala had brought is a destruction to Islam and the Muslims
